it’s not the dreaded middle ear infection. it’s an entzündung (leo only suggests “inflammation”, but that just sounds wrong - english teachers, i’m looking your way) of both auditory canals (gehörgänge, had to look it up myself). meaning two drops per ear, three times a day - that’s plenty of tries to figure out just how this is supposed to be done - and parkemed against the ache. which is partly nice and partly even more mind-dulling than the the inflammation itself (there, i said it).
my krankenstandsbestätigung even states my ausgehzeit, i’m allowed to leave the house from 13 to 16. and boy am i glad that’s exactly the time i went to the pharmacist.
